Using our website

You may use the Carbon Control website subject to the Terms and Conditions set out on this page. Access and use by you of this site constitutes acceptance by you of the Terms and Conditions in force at the time of use.

This site carboncontrol.org.uk is operated by Atticmedia Limited. Carbon Control is commissioned by the Climate Challenge Fund, in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

Carboncontrol.org.uk is maintained for your personal use and viewing.

1. Provision of Service

1.1 The Site is operated by Atticmedia – www.atticmedia.com

2. Limited Rights to Use Content

2.1 All material displayed on the Site ("Content") belongs to The Crown or its licensors. Subject to clause 2.2, you may retrieve and display the Content on a computer screen, print individual pages on paper and store such pages in electronic form on disk (but not on any server or other storage device connected to an external network) for your own personal, educational, non-commercial purposes.

2.2 Most of the Content on the Site is owned by The Crown but certain Content is used under licence from third parties ("Third Party Content") and will be marked with the copyright notice of those third parties. Some of the Third Party Content will be subject to additional restrictions - the relevant copyright notice will make it clear where that is the case. You must comply with such restrictions.

2.3 You may not (without prior written permission from The Crown):

redistribute any of the Content or supply it to other people (including by using it as part of any library, archive or similar service);

remove the copyright or trade mark notice from any copies of Content made under this Agreement;

create a database in electronic or structured manual form by systematically downloading and storing all or any of the Content;

except as expressly set out above, modify, reproduce or in any way commercially exploit any of the Content.

2.4 You acknowledge that the names, images and logos which identify the Climate Challenge Fund (Tomorrow's Climate Today's Challenge), other Government departments and/or third parties are the proprietary material of the Crown and/or third parties. Copying any of this material is not permitted without prior approval from the owner of the relevant intellectual property rights.

Linking policy

You do not have to ask permission to link directly to pages hosted on this site. However, we do not permit our pages to be loaded into frames on your site. Our pages must load into the user's entire window.

Carbon Control is not responsible for the contents or reliability of any site to which it is linked and does not necessarily endorse the views expressed within them. Linking to or from this site should not be taken as endorsement of any kind. We cannot guarantee that these links will work all of the time and we have no control over the availability of the linked pages.

Participation

The Service includes a message board, and facilities to submit a review, send in films (via post or email), submit a teaching resource and allowing feedback to carboncontrol.org.uk. The opinions, advice and statements contained in messages posted on the Site ("Messages") are those of the Users and not carboncontrol.org.uk although these are closely monitored.

carboncontrol.org.uk reserves the right to delete, move and edit any material submitted. You are solely responsible for the material you submit to the Site and by submitting any material you agree that you will not submit any material that:

- advertises or promotes any goods or services;
-  reveals any confidential or sensitive information;
- contains or links to any unlawful, threatening, abusive, libellous, indecent or otherwise illegal material;
- contains pictures of other children without their parents' agreement
- contains any material which you do not have permission to use (including material which may be protected by copyright, trade marks, database right or any other form of intellectual property right);
- contains viruses or any other components with harmful or contaminating properties which may affect the Site or any equipment connected to it; or
- disguises your identity or impersonates any person.

Where you are invited to submit any contribution to the Site (including any text, photographs, films or graphics) you agree, by submitting your contribution, to grant carboncontrol.org.uk a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sub-licensable right to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute your contribution worldwide in any media. If you do not want to grant carboncontrol.org.uk the rights set out above, please do not submit your contribution to the Site.
